He runs towards the enterance showing Bilbo the way out in the process hoping to catch the invisible Bilbo. Many have hoped that “cancel culture” in its various manifestations might be on the cusp of flaming out, given the inhumane behavior that it fosters. Gollum beings to think that the only reason Bilbo came down there was to steal his ring. A nervous Bilbo put on the ring and disappeared. When Gollum realized his ring was missing he started to have a panic attack. Of course Gollum didn't guess, so instead of showing Bilbo the way out right away like promised he went to show him his "birthday present" I think Gollum had hidden adgena which was to put on the ring and kill Bilbo. Which was the ring of course, but Gollum who thought his precious ring was in his lil house. When it was time for Bilbo to ask a riddle he could think of any except to ask Gollum what he had in his pocket. Well they both had some very trick riddles. If Bilbo was unable to answer one of Gollum's riddles then Gollum could eat him. If Gollum was unable to answer one of Bilbo's riddles then he had to show him the way out. So Gollum and Bilbo played a game of riddles.
